LAST CHANCE DITCH COMPANY <br />DITCH HEADWORKS REPLACEMENT PROJECT <br />Project Description <br />The Last Chance Ditch Company utilizes the Last Chance Ditch to supply water to its 14 shareholders <br />for the purpose of irrigation and gravel company operations. The old headworks of the ditch consisted <br />of a wooden structure with dual gates that had been in place since the early 1900's. The headgate had <br />been rehabilitated numerous times over the years and the annual maintenance and reliability had <br />become a growing concern. The project included the removal and replacement of the existing <br />headworks with a reinforced concrete structure with dual headgates and an overshot gate. The Project <br />will reduce the annual maintenance costs and increase the reliability of the structure. <br />Project Data <br />Sponsor: Last Chance Ditch Company <br />County: Weld <br />Water Source: St. Vrain Creek <br />Substantial Completion: July 1, 2012 <br />Terms of Loan: $185,436 ($166,460 drawn) for 30 years @ 4.65% <br />Design Engineer: AGPROfessionals, LLC, Longmont, CO <br />Contractor: Concrete Structures, Inc., Longmont, CO <br />Project Elements: Concrete diversion structure, 120 tons of rock rip -rap, 3 steel gates <br />
