Program Performance and ManaLvement Obiectives <br />Strategic Planning, <br />Regularly review objectives, implementation processes, and program needs within the OL% <br />Directors Office, with every section, and with the DNR Executive Director. <br />Review the progress of activities and evaluate the purpose and goals of participation on <br />an ongoing basis. Adjust goals, objectives, work and performance plans, and staff <br />priorities as necessary to meet deadlines, avert crisis or take advantage of new <br />opportunities. <br />Encourage consultation and cooperation among sections -to coordinate objectives <br />(especially with respect to non - reimbursable accounts, implementation of policy, support <br />to AGO /EDO and coordination with external entities). <br />Implement planning objectives via the budget and purchasing process, Board meetings, <br />and through performance planning. <br />Create opportunities for active and beneficial participation in decision making by staff <br />with the Board. <br />Create and implement practical and efficient administrative processes. <br />Motivate employees to improve performance, provide training opportunities and <br />demonstrate effective methods of supervision by reviewing and discussing workload, <br />supervisory and performance planning issues with staff. <br />�° ---� -- h —1� �S lam- <br />Communication <br />Communicate information to keep the public informed and increase the public's <br />knowledge about water issues. <br />Respond quickly to requests for information and help. <br />Identify and document accomplishments for inclusion in memos, reports, newsletters and <br />press releases. <br />Management <br />Assure that excellence is the Board and staff standard. <br />Work to ensure the filling of vacancies in a timely manner. <br />Create and implement appropriate office policies. <br />Work to ensure the on -time completion of document imaging al siltrpre�em�at� <br />Ensure Board meetings are conducted to efficiently convey information and promote <br />decision - making. <br />Prepare budgets and operate within them. <br />Provide communications to the Board in an effective manner, promoting two -way <br />communications between staff and the Board, to highlight key issues for Board reaction <br />and guidance. <br />Page 9 of 10 <br />4/2/2002 <br />
