Lower Colorado River Wild and Scenic River Collaborative Process <br />Meeting Agenda <br />September 14, 2009 <br />Meeting Location: ZIS Bureau of Reclamation Office <br />2764 Compass Drive in Grand Junction <br />Meeting Objectives <br />• Meet one another and begin to understand how people are thinking about this process <br />• Gain a general understanding of collaboration and how it fits into BLM's RMP revision <br />• Outline an approach for moving forward with the collaborative process <br />A�enda <br />1:00 p.m. Welcome, Agenda Review, and Introductions <br />1:30 p.m. Setting the Stage for Collaborative Discussions <br />• Role of the facilitation team <br />• Consensus-based decision making <br />• Interest-based discussions and making the pie bigger <br />2:10 p.m. Understanding the Context: The Legal Framework <br />Several participants have indicated an interest in learning more about the <br />Wild and Scenic Rivers Act and how it intersects with BLM's RMP revision <br />process. Since BLM has previously provided a detailed presentation on this, <br />today's presentation will be brief and focus largely on situating this <br />stakeholder process in the larger BLM decision-making framework. <br />2:30 p.m. Break <br />2:40 p.m. Understanding the Context: Stakeholder Interests and Expectations <br />The facilitator will provide a brief summary of stakeholder interests and <br />expectations that have emerged from the online survey and from a small <br />number of individual telephone discussions. Participants will be invited to <br />add to/refine this list. <br />3:15 p.m. Next Steps for the Collaborative Process <br />5takeholders will discuss options for moving forward in light of what they <br />have heard during today's meeting. The goal of this discussion is to generate <br />a rough agreement of how this process will unfold. Issues that need to be <br />factored into this discussion include: <br />• Diverse stakeholders' comfort with the process <br />• Opportunities for stakeholders to learn from one another or from <br />outside entities and truly deliberate on the issues at hand <br />• Ability of the process to provide information to BLM that is useful <br />and can have an impact <br />4:00 p.m. Adjourn <br />_ .`�,, <br />� <br />
