The City is
requesting $27,825 to implement a Commercial Pre-Rinse Nozzle Conversion Program, a
Residential Toilet Rebate Program, Irrigation Audits, Water-Wise Landscape Seminars and a
Garden-in-a-Box Xeriscape program.
Longmont staff has estimated these programs combined will produce an annual water savings of
24.5 acre feet. The Pre-Rinse Nozzle Conversion Program is estimated to save 19 acre feet.
Longmont expects to save 3.3 acre feet from the Residential Toilet Rebate Program and the
irrigation audits will save 2.2 acre feet. The water savings from the seminars and Garden-in-a-
Box program will be calculated as part of Longmont's 2012 water efficiency efforts.
The total project cost is $38,325. Longmont has pledged 27%matching funds in the form of
cash totaling $10,500. The OWCDP staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant application and
has determined that the proposal meets or exceeds the CWCB guidelines for reviewing grant
proposals.
