The
Guidance Document outlines eight steps in the drought management planning process,
of which the Town has completed through Step 4.
We have developed objectives and operating principles for the DMP process, which
include planning for droughts before they occur and responding by increasing supply
and decreasing demand. We also developed a list of water use priorities, which we
think has been the most helpful for providing guidance for decision making. The water
use priorities are as follows:
1. Heath & Safety- all indoor uses
2. Hydrant- new construction & dust control
3. Outdoor public - sports complex, schools & high priority parks
4. Outdoor residential - incl. low priority parks
5. Outdoor business
6. Outdoor private - HOA irrigated areas
We have also selected the following individuals to participate as stakeholders:
Name Job Description
Dave Lindsay Town Engineer
Wes LaVanchy Town Manager
Ron Lay Financial Director
Theo Abkes Public Works Director
Julie Pasillas Water Utility Clerk
Bruce Nickerson _ Town Planner
Kristi Ritter Communication Director
