Ridgway Reservoir Micro-Hydro Project Loan Feasibility <br />Page 3 of 42 <br />EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br />Date: August 1, 2011 <br />Applicant: Mike Berry, General Manager <br />Tri-County Water Conservancy District <br />647 North 7�' Street, PO Box 347 <br />Montrose, CO 81402 <br />Location of Project: Ouray County, Colorado <br />Project Summary: Tri-County Water Conservancy District is requesting a loan of $lOM to <br />support construction of a 7MW hydroelectric generating facility to be added to the existing outlet <br />works of Ridgway Dam. The facility will produce power from two Francis turbines. Project <br />benefits will include the following: <br />• Annual generation of approximately 22,600,000 kWh of clean energy. <br />• Reductions in carbon dioxide emissions of approximately 40,000,000 pounds annually <br />(based upon an emissions factor of 21bs of COZ per kWh). <br />• Substantial ongoing annual revenue for Tri-County Water after amortization. <br />• Creation of approximately 40 jobs (based upon Navigant Consulting's recent estimate of <br />direct jobs benefits of 6 jobs/MW for new hydro construction projects). <br />Estimated Project Completion Date: 2014 <br />
