10. Improve the outlet ditch to the Supply Ditch to the north of the project site.
Approximately 2,000 linear feet of the ditch will be shaped, compacted, and
improved and approximately 650 linear feet of the ditch will be concrete lined due
to sandy and gravelly soils.
The Construction cost to complete the repairs indicated above for Alternative 1 is estimated to be
$ 566,000. The complete breakdown of the cost for Alternative 1 is shown in Table 3 and Table
5 of this report.
Alternative 2- Raise Dam Crest To Gage Height 25 feet.
Alternative 2 is similar to Alternative 1 in all respects except the crest of the dam will be raised
approximately five feet in elevation from gage height 20 feet to gage height 25 feet. This increases
the reservoir storage to approximately 360 acre-feet. Figure 3 shows the modifications to the dam
cross sections to allow the dam to be raised to gage height 25 feet.
' The Construction cost to complete the repairs indicated above for Alternative 2 is estimated to be
$ 1,116,000. The complete breakdown of the cost for Alternative 1 is shown in Table 3 and Table
6 of this report.
I' Alternative 3- Raise Dam Crest To Gage Height 30 feet.
Alternative 3 is similar to Alternatives 1 and 2 in all respects except the crest of the dam will be
raised approximately ten feet in elevation from gage height 20 feet to gage height 30 feet. This
' increases the reservoir storage to approximately 540 acre-feet. Figure 4 shows the modifications
to the dam cross sections to allow the dam to be raised to gage height 30 feet.
' The Construction cost to complete the repairs indicated above for Alternative 3 is estimated to be
$1,740,500. The complete breakdown of the cost for Alternative 1 is shown in Table 3 and Table
7 of this report.
J
C
'
'
,

COST ESTIMATE
The complete breakdown of the cost of the work proposed for each alternative is shown in Tables
5, 6, and 7. The costs are based on our past experience with similar projects and also from data
supplied by local contractors and suppliers. Quantities were based on a topographic map of the
reservoir site provided to us by the Supply Irrigating Ditch Company.
A summary of the costs for the three alternatives, including the engineering fees and
contingencies, is shown in the following table.
Knoth Reservoir-Feasibility Study Page g
