Water users within the San Miguel watershed
have had three years to study their long -term water supply needs and to file water rights applications to
meet those needs. Given the long -term effort to engage the public and water users, the CDOW requests
that the CWCB proceed with its appropriation process at the regularly scheduled board meeting in
January 2011.
The information contained in the attached report forms the basis for the instream flow recommendation
to be considered by the Board. It is the CDOW staff's opinion that the information is sufficient for the
Board to begin the findings required in Rule 5 (i) of the Instream Flow Rules.
If you have any questions regarding the attached information or the instream flow recommendations,
please contact me at (303)- 291 -7267.
Sincerely,
40 x.. -,a*
Mark Uppendahl
Colorado Division of Wildlife
Instream Flow Program Coordinator
Cc: Grady McNeill, CDOW Resource Support Section Manager — w/o attachments
Jay Skinner, CDOW Water Unit Program Manager — w/o attachments
Dave Graf, CDOW Water Resource Specialist — w/o attachments
John Alves, CDOW Senior Fish Biologist — w/o attachments
Dan Kowalski, CDOW Fish Biologist — w/o attachments
