.. M.
woodwarc-C
"rapid drawdown"; however, this is not clear based on the surface features. We
recommend excavating 1 to 2 test pits through the cracki.ng to map the "direction" of the
slide surface. The test pits would be excavated about 5 to 7 feet deep and then reIled
with compacted material.
Scope Option 4- SnillwaConceptual Dgsign
We understand that the existing spillway is undersized when compazed with cuneat
spillway requirements. Our work scope for this item would consist of performing
hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for the Brush Hollow drainage area. Our hydrologic
analyses would include rainfall, runoff, nd flood routing estimates for the required
design storm event. We would also perform hydraulic analyses of the existing spillway
and spillway enlargement altematives to t ee conceptual designs and cost
estimates for enlargement of the spillw . ou also evaluate the quantities of
material that may be available fro y tat could be used to repair
n
the dam. ,
Sco* Ontion 5- Embanlanent Raise
We understand that sediment in the reservoir may have reduced the available storage
by 3 to 4 feet. You have requested that we include an estimate to evaluate increasing
the height of the dam by up to 4 feet to compensate for the lost storage. For this
option, we would develop a repair configuration for a raised embankment and estimate
the increased quantities and costs for the raise.
Scone Onti n 6 Ontlet Works In ecti n
We understand that the Water Company is consideri.ng a camera inspection of the outlet
works, since the reservoir is nearly dewatered. Our Scope of Work for Option 6 would
be to perform a video inspection of the outlet and document the inspectian on a video
tape. We would also complete a review of the condition of the outlet pipe and
document the results of our review in a letter report. The pipe condition review would
be completed by our outlet works specialist, Mr. Sal Todazo.
