EXHIBIT A <br />WORK STATEMENT <br />PROJECT NAME TAMARACK NATIVE FISHES STREAM 98 <br />PROJECT LOCATION Tamarack State Wildlife Area located between Sterling and Crook, <br />Colorado <br />PRODGl..1 DESI <br />A pump- recharge project, known as the Tamarack Plan, provides the ideal scenano in <br />which to pro - actively begin management activities specifically targeted toward declining native <br />fish species Numerous wildlife related benefits have been initially designed into the overall <br />project located on the Tamarack State Wildlife Area to comply with CONE water compact <br />issues addressing ESA priorities of the South Platte River in Nebraska This project initially <br />included the creation of a live stream habitat exclusive of the South Platte River, approximately <br />1/3 mile in length which flows between 15 and 4 0 cfs, in which habitats will be created <br />enhancing the productivity of identified native fishes for conservation, wildlife viewing, refugia, <br />and propagation purposes Additionally, three (3) ponds will be created to provide native fish <br />refugia, emergency water storage, wildlife viewing, and waterfowl nesting habitat The ponds <br />will be designed to enable retrieval of cultured native species for trap /transplant restoration <br />activities The largest of the three constructed ponds will be designed to provide solar- heated <br />water to the live stream to maintain thermal requirements of native fish species of concern <br />SERVICES AND PRODUCTS <br />To the extent that funds are provided by the state under this agreement for procurement of <br />equipment, materials, and other similar items, NCWCD will provide administrative and <br />supervisory, procurement, engineering and oversight services for the following projects <br />a Construction of the well -water delivery system from the existing CDOW <br />well to the live stream (buned pipelines, machinery rental, hardware, and <br />fittings) <br />b Construction of the excavated stream bed (purchase, importation and <br />distribution of bed lining materials, related hardware and fittings) <br />c Excavation and construction of the solar- heated pond (pond liner, liner <br />installation, machinery rental, concrete work, header box, hardware and <br />fittings) <br />d Excavation and construction of two emergency water storage ponds to 1) <br />supply water flow to the live stream in the event of a power outage, and 2) <br />to provide refugia and propagation ponds for native fishes This will <br />include pond lining, related hardware and fittings, as necessary <br />
