Gimbel <br /> Veva Deheza, Section Chief CWCB Director <br /> Office of Water Conservation & Drought Planning <br /> DATE: March 18, 2011 <br /> SUBJECT: Water Efficiency Grant Fund Recommendation for Left Water District <br /> Summary of Grant Application <br /> The Office of Water Conservation & Drought Planning (OWCDP) received a Water Efficiency <br /> grant application from Left Hand Water District (LHW), a covered entity with a CWCB- <br /> approved Water Conservation Plan (2008). LHW is requesting $45,836 to implement three water <br /> conservation measures recommended in the district's Water Conservation Plan. <br /> LHW is requesting a grant to improve leak detection and repair of subdivisions with known leaks <br /> and aging infrastructure, and water audit programs of residential, commercial and industrial <br /> customers. The district projects annual water savings of 89 AF. Each program achieves <br /> identified goals in the district's 2008 Water Conservation Plan. <br /> The total project cost is $81,626. LHW has pledged 44% matching funds in the form of cash <br /> ($1000.00), and in -kind services totaling 35,790. The OWCDP staff has reviewed and evaluated <br /> the grant application and has determined that the proposal meets or exceeds the CWCB <br /> guidelines for reviewing grant proposals.
