ARKANSAS GROUNDWATER USERS ASSOCIATION (AGUA) <br />EXCELSIOR PURCHASE & RECHARGE POND CONSTRUCTION <br />"Project Picture Not Available" <br />Proiect Description <br />The Arkansas Groundwater Users Association (AGUA) is a Colorado non-profit corporation formed in <br />January 1995 to protect and develop surface and underground waters in the Arkansas River Basin. <br />AGUA's current membership is in excess of 435 wells, with approximately 350 wells active as of 2003. <br />AGUA also administers plans and provides augmentation water for the Middle Arkansas Groundwater <br />Users Association, Booth Well Association and a few small substitute water supply plans. Due to the <br />uncertainty of availability and prices of leased water, AGUA has begun purchasing water rights for use in <br />its augmentation plan, with the goal of reducing its dependence on leased water from approximately 92- <br />95% to 50-60%.
