Accordingly, BLM requests that the stakeholder group provide written feedback to BLM no later
than February 11, 2011 regarding the following items:
• Does the stakeholder group want to proceed with an analysis of a stakeholder alternative
in the draft land use plan?
• If the group wants to proceed with a stakeholder alternative, please identify the
documents the stakeholder group wants to be included in the Wild & Scenic Rivers
appendix in the land use plan.
• Please provide electronic copies of the documents the stakeholder group wants to be
included in the Wild & Scenic Rivers appendix in the land use plan. If the stakeholder
group wishes to continue to rely upon the conceptual plan and implementation outline,
please provide electronic copies of the latest versions of those documents by February 11
2011. If the stakeholder group wants BLM to incorporate a modified version of the
stakeholder alternative, please provide an electronic copy of that document by February
28, 2011. Since time is of the essence, these electronic copies should be provided to
Dave Stout, Kremmling Field Manager and Karl Mendonca, Colorado River Valley
Acting Field Manager as well as me.
• If the group believes its currently proposed approach contains any significant conceptual
changes from the conceptual plan submitted earlier, please identify those changes.
As you may recall, in a September 2009 letter, the Colorado Water Conservation Board
requested additional time for a submission of stakeholder alternative. During the 15 months that
have elapsed since that letter, BLM has attempted to keep the stakeholder group informed of our
planning process and to involve the stakeholder group in discussions with BLM's cooperating
agencies on the planning effort. If there is anything further BLM can do to assist the stakeholder
group, please contact Roy Smith at 303- 239 -3940.
Leigh D.
