Colorado 80203 <br />Dear Mr. Kowalski: <br />I am pleased to appoint you as an alternate member of the Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive <br />Management Work Group (AMWG) representing the State of Colorado. Your appointment is for a <br />4 -year term, effective the date of this letter. You will attend meetings when Ms. Jennifer Gimbel, <br />the primary member, is unable to attend. <br />The AMWG provides advice and recommendations to the Secretary of the Interior relative to the <br />operation of Glen Canyon Dam to protect, mitigate adverse impacts to, and improve the values for <br />which Grand Canyon National Park and Glen Canyon National Recreation Area were established. <br />A copy of the charter and a list of members are enclosed for your information. <br />Ms. Anne Castle, Assistant Secretary for Water and Science, is the Secretary's Designee. <br />Ms. Castle will contact you shortly with further information regarding the AMWG. Ms. Castle <br />may be reached at (202) 208 -3186. <br />I would like to express my deep appreciation for your willingness to commit your time and <br />expertise to the AMWG.
