SUBJECT: Water Efficiency Grant Fund Recommendation for City of Dacono
Summary of Grant Application
The Office of Water Conservation & Drought Planning ( OWCDP) received a Water Efficiency Grant
Fund application from the City of Dacono. Dacono is requesting $35,306 to develop a water conservation
plan that will comply with §37 -60 -126 C.R.S. The total project cost is $48,662.
Dacono is located in the South Platte River Basin where SWSI identified a gap of 22% by 2030. With the
Dacono's water supply dependent on Colorado Big Thompson water as their only source, the City
understands the importance of incorporating water conservation into their comprehensive water resources
planning as well as extending the supplies of future water sources.
Dacono has pledged 27% matching funds in the form of cash ($4,500) and in -kind services ($8,856).
OWCDP staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant application and has determined that the proposal
meets the CWCB guidelines for reviewing grant proposals. Attached is the internal checklist used to
evaluate the application.
Recommendation
The OWCDP staff recommends that Jennifer Gimbel, Director of the CWCB, authorize a Water
Efficiency Grant in the amount of $35,306 to Dacono for development of a water conservation plan in
accordance with §37 -60 -126 C.R.S.
