DIVISION 2 MEMORANDUM
Figure 7.0 Comparison between (a) an Uncorrected and (b) a Radiometrically Corrected
Landsat TM Image
2.7 Image Subset for Study Area
The subset procedure consisted of `cutting' the satellite images to the approximate boundaries of the
2003 Irrigated Lands Update In The Lower Arkansas River Basin study area. In the first step of this
procedure, Area of Interest (AOI) polygons were delineated along the extents of the DOQQ map base for
each Landsat frame. In a second step, the AOI polygons were used in ERDAS Imagine to create subsets
of all Landsat scenes. The objective of the image subset was to reduce the amount of data handling and
processing time.
Page 17 of 23 (Riverside Technology, inc.
Waler Resources Engineering and Consulting
(b) Radiometrically corrected Landsat TM in
near infrared band combination (4 -3 -2)
(a) Uncorrected Landsat TM in near infrared
band combination (4 -3 -2)
