The AWP Coordinator will also work with the project <br />manager to ensure the successful execution of this proposed project. <br />Subtask 4.3 - Fiscal Administration <br />Budget tracking, invoicing and coordination of funds by the non-profit arm of the USDA, <br />the San Juan Resource Conservation Development <br />Additional Information <br />The AWP represents more than 6 years of effort in collaboration between Municipal, <br />State, Tribat, Federal, and local entities to achieve workable solutions to issues in the <br />Animas River watershed, primarily related to nutrient enrichment. Currently, the <br />group is in the process of completing a Watershed Management Pian, and has <br />completed a Sampling and Analysis Plan, in order to provide an agreed-upon <br />framework for watershed management and data collection on the Animas River and <br />tributaries. In addition, the AWP has compiied a comprehensive database of existing <br />water quality samples and measurements and compiled this data in a Geographic <br />Information System (GIS) database that contains spatial datasets such as land cover, <br />discharge locations, irrigation systems, and land ownership. <br />The ARNYV and the AWP have received over $68,000 from New Mexico Environment <br />Department, $14,000 from Southwest Water Conservation District, $15,000 from <br />Colorado Watershed Assembly, $25,000 from Colorado Department of Public Health <br />and Environment, $2,000 from Southern Ute Indian 1'ribe, $1,000 from the City of <br />Durango, $1,000 from the City of Farmington and well over $100,000 of in-kind support <br />to operate Stakeholder Groups and complete studies. <br />Personnel <br />There are four entities responsible far the research: <br />a. fcosphere Environmental Services <br />b. BUGS Consulting ' <br />c. Mountain Studies institute <br />d. Basin Hydrology <br />Janet 1Nolf with Ecosphere Environmental Services is the Coordinator of the <br />Animas Watershed Partnership. Chester Anderson with B.U.G.S. Consulting is the <br />lead on the nutrient loading and macroinvertebrate community assessment tasks <br />and the Project Manager and will coordinate the preparation of the final Needs <br />Assessment document and is responsibte for its completion. Dr. Koren Nydick with <br />Mountain Studies Institute will be the lead on periphyton biomass, and Nitrogen <br />isotope tracer assessments. Mark Oliver with Basin Hydrology witl be the lead on <br />geomorphic assessments. Biographical sketches are provided betow.
