New Supply Development and Agricultural Transfer
Concepts to Address Colorado's Water Supply Future
The Colorado Water Conservation Board (CWCB) and
Interbasin Compact Committee (IBCC) are in the process of a
continuing dialogue regarding Colorado's Water Supply
Future. During the past year, their discussions have focused
on how Colorado will meet its 2050 municipal and industrial
demands, agricultural demands, and environmental and
recreational water needs. The IBCC and CWCB have agreed
that a range of strategies are needed to help meet our state's
future water needs. Strategies could include conservation,
reuse, agricultural transfers, regional coordination strategies,
or development of additional Colorado River System supplies.
FIGURE 1.
