IRRIGATION
The Armel Unit will consist of Bonny Dam and Reservoir, Armel
Pumping Plant, a canal system to serve approximately 7,000 acres of
new arable uplands, and the existing Hale Ditch system.
The canal system that would serve the Unit lands will originate
at the outlet works of the dam. The canal will extend down the
north side of the river valley for a distance of about eight miles
where a pumping plant will lift the water to the table lands north of
the river.
The existing facilities presently provide regulation of the
water supply to - the Hale Ditch which commands 750 acres of arable
lands.
Armel U21,y Canal
This portion of the Unit will transport water from the outlet
works at the dam to the Armel Pumping Plant. The capacity of this
canal would be about 140 c.f.s. and would be lined.
ArmeL Pum2inZ Plant
This pumping plant will lift water from the supply canal to
a delivery point on the uplands. The lift will be approximately
170 feet with a delivery water surface of about elevation 3790.
