SECTION V
SUX4ARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS
SUMMARY
The area west of Greeley has experienced, over the years, an increasing-
ly serious flooding condition. There is a positive need to correct the
existing drainage problems and at the same time to develop a reliable long -
range improvement program that will prevent the recurrence of the present
drainage problems.
This report has involved itself in the two -fold task of outlining a
course of action to (1) correct the existing drainage problems, and (2) to
present a comprehensive and practical long -range drainage improvement program
for review and acceptance by the Greeley Planning Commission. The program
presented in this report is economically feasible and can be constructed in
stages as needed. When completed, the drainage program will furnish pro-
tection for all properties in the drainage basin and at the same time it will
provide an attractive and beneficial strip park for the area.
RECOMMENDATIONS
It is recommended that the Greeley Planning Commission adopt the drain-
age program outlined herein as its official "Master Drainage Program". After
its adoption, appropriate legislative action should be taken to insure that
all future development in this area conforms to the official drainage program.
To provide the necessary improvements in those-areas where residential
developments are underway or are completed, it is recommended that the
Greeley Planning Commission exercise its influence over the local citizens to
initiate this needed construction.
- 21 -
