Fort Collins <br />Firm Receives <br />Federal Funds <br />From the Wash r &L $areas <br />of The Rocky Mountain News <br />WASHINGTON —More than <br />$1.7 million has been made avail- <br />able to a Ft. Collins company by <br />the Department of the Interior <br />Monday to finance the enlarge- <br />ment of the Long Draw Dam <br />and Reservoir and the rehabili- <br />tation of the Grand River Ditch. <br />A 50 -year loan to the Water <br />Supply and Storage Co. of <br />$1,355,700 will allow the capacity <br />of the reservoir to be increased <br />from 4,400 acre feet to 11,000 <br />acre feet and general improve- <br />ment of the ditch, which diverts <br />water from west of the Conti- <br />nental Divide for use in the com- <br />pany's service area. <br />A grant of $360,500 will aid in <br />construction of recreation facili- <br />ties and improving fish and <br />wildlife conditions at the reser- <br />voir and downstream. <br />The service area is located <br />north and east of Fort Collins <br />and contains 37,425 acres. <br />
