<br />INTEREST OF LOCAL PEOPLE
<br />The farmers, particularly those in the irrigated section, the City
<br />of Julesburg, the Union Pacific Railroad, County and State highways, and the
<br />Julesburg Irrigation District are aware of the need for control of the
<br />O'Neil Draw Watershed and want to get the project underway,
<br />The steering committee has spent considerable time in working with
<br />the people and have concluded that with a good educational program and
<br />with additional technical assistance, the necessary land treatment can
<br />be accomplished.
<br />A list of those in attendance at the meeting of August 7, 1958, is
<br />appended in order to show the public interest in the proposed project.
<br />FINANCIAL ABILITY
<br />The local people believe they will have no difficulty in assuming
<br />their obligations relative to easements, rights -of -way, operation and
<br />maintenance costs, and administration of contracts,
<br />The City of Julesburg, Sedgwick County, Union Pacific Railroad,
<br />Julesburg Irrigation District, and benefited farmers have ample ability to
<br />handle these obligations. They have agreed to these obligations in the
<br />Application.
