Expert Witness
<br />As an expert witness I have previously testified in Colorado water courts Water Divisions
<br />1, 4 and 5 for issues related to the Golden (Division No. I Case 98CW448), Vail
<br />(Division No. 5 Case OOCW259), Breckenridge (Division No. 5 Case OOCW281), and
<br />Gunnison (Division No. 4 Case No. 02CW38) Water Parks and Steamboat (Colorado
<br />case 03CW86, District Court, Water Division #6.). I also gave testimony before the
<br />CWCB for issues related to the Pueblo and Gunnison Parks. In all cases I have been
<br />qualified as an expert witness with regard to my experience as a Professional Engineer,
<br />Whitewater/Boating Park Designer, and Expert Kayaker based on the qualifications listed
<br />above.
<br />Accomplishments:
<br />Gunnison River Whitewater Park, Gunnison, Colorado, 1999-Present: Chief
<br />planner, designer, and engineer for this $200,000 river park. The project included
<br />state -of -the -art whitewater improvements, stream bank restoration and access, and
<br />overall site improvements. The project design has been approved and permitted,
<br />with construction scheduled to begin in 2001.
<br />Arkansas River Whitewater Park, Salida, Colorado, 1999-Present: Chief
<br />planner, designer, and engineer of a plan funded by the Arkansas River Trust.
<br />Natural - appearing whitewater improvements restore the river, and provide
<br />economic and recreational benefits to the downtown area. A key aspect of the
<br />project includes whitewater course improvements at the site of the longest -
<br />running whitewater kayak race in North America, FibArk.
<br />Gore Creek Whitewater Park, Vail, Colorado, 1999 - Present: Chief planner,
<br />designer, and engineer for this $200,000 river park. The project, which is located
<br />in the pedestrian village in downtown Vail, included creative park and bank
<br />improvements and featured natural boulder drop structures.
<br />Truckee River Whitewater Park, Reno, Nevada, 1999 -2000: Chief planner,
<br />designer, and engineer of a plan funded by the Nevada Commission on Tourism
<br />to restore and integrate the Truckee River into the urban fabric of downtown
<br />Reno. Key aspects of the project include a whitewater slalom course and
<br />riverside trails, plazas, and esplanades which mesh with in- stream improvements
<br />and adjacent commercial activity..
<br />Animas River Whitewater Improvements Project, Farmington, New Mexico,
<br />1999 -2000: Chief planner, designer, and engineer for this $100,000 project,
<br />which included modification of an unsightly diversion structure made of dumped
<br />concrete and rabble. The river restoration included the diversion of water using
<br />naturally appearing features, which provide in- stream habitat for endangered fish
<br />
