In order to estimate <br />the amount <br />of State tourism that will <br />likely occur in La <br />Plata County, RPI consulted the State <br />Demography <br />Sections basic income for <br />tourism for all counties (La Plata County collects about 2.5% of all of <br />the new dollars collected <br />from tourists in Colorado each year). So, assuming that <br />visitation is <br />proportionate to revenues, <br />RPI applied this <br />adjustment to the total kayaker visits <br />to find that <br />there are about 1000 out <br />of state kayakers <br />that visit the Durango Whitewater Park each year <br />for a total of about 1400 <br />user days. <br />Figure A2.
