1, Determine benefit3 thVc can be obtained with an improved
irrigation orator supply.
2. Determine water yield and water demand.
3. Determine needs for recreational facilities and availability
of an organization to sponsor this aati
4. Determine possible floodwater, sediment and erosion benefits.
The Work Plan Staff will make preliminary investigations in accord
with Colorado Watershed Memorandum SCS-12 and keep sponsors informed of
findings of the studies. The sponsors will be kept informed of planning
progress at all times.
If these investigations appear favorable to the Work Plan Party
and the sponsors, additional data for a work outline will be developed.
If analysis of data collected during preliminary investigation
indicates that project needs will not have a favorable benefit—cost
relationship, a report will br made to the sponsor: and investigations
will be terminated.
As previously suggested at the State Soil Conservation Board
Meeting, the sponsors reviewed their watershed application with
representatives of the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation in .Tune 1963 to determine
whether or not it could b3 developed under the .Small Reclamation Projects
Act (P. L 984).
They must now decide which agency their wish to work with in making
a study for proposalo to alle their watershed problems.
If the sponsors wish to develop the project under the provisions
of Public Law 566, they will need to write a memorandiun to F. A. Mark,
Stage Conservationist, Soil Conservation Service, stating their desires
to continue studies under the viatershad protection program. The sponsors
should inform the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation of their decision in this
matter,
Ido further studies Brill be made by this examining group or the
Watershed Work Plan Staff until the sponsors have indicated their decision
to Mr. Mark,
Everett L. Ballard
Acting Secretary for the Group
