<br />WHEREAS, There has been introduced and is- now pending- in the., Congress of
<br />i . the United States., S. 555 by Senator Murray of 14ontana, -for the purpose of
<br />creating a federal corporation 'to be known• as < "The 1iiissouri Valley Authority ",

<br />andtan-other bill in the House of Representatives of the United States by
<br />Representative- Rankin-, H. R. 1824, for 'the purpose of creating nine regional'
<br />Authorities covering:the entire oUnited�States; and it appearing that the
<br />•�

<br />North - Platte aid South "•Pla`tte r.ive'r basins within the State of 'Colorado 'are
<br />included in the region under 'the proposed Missouri Valley - Authority, kand the
<br />- State would be-included in three regions under these Author -

<br />ities. by the provisions of H. R. `1824 (The Rankin Bill)., 'and'
<br />1 MREAS, There. have been constructed within the State of -, Colorad'o, in

<br />-cooperation with the State and its poltica -1 sub- divisions and with full
<br />reoogniti•on of the sovereign rights of the State, water improvement projects
<br />for domeitic, munio irrigation, industrial, hydro - electric' generation
<br />and flood control by,private enterprise; =and , by existing federal agencies

<br />fully responsible to the Congress, the states `and the - people- benefited; and

<br />fiurther water project' developments are in course of aonstruc'tion or are being
