TABLE 1 (continued)
PROCEDURE TO ESTIMATE DEPLETIONS AND DIVERSIONS
Code
Structure
Type of Use
Procedure used to Estimate Diversions and Depletions
1
(2 )
(3
(4
St
Well and
Stock
Diversion and depletions equal .40 ac -ft based on estimated developed by the
Springs
Division 4 office. This is equal to 100 cattle using 8 gallons/head /day for 163
days.
StateCU1
Diversion
Irrigation with
Used if the DWR determined via satellite images that irrigated acreage was
Structure
identified irrigated
associated with this structure. The DWR program STATECU was utilized to
acreage
estimate the diversions and depletions. For further documentation of the
StateCU program see "StateCU Documentation - StateCU Interface Version 4 -
StateCU FORTRAN Version 10, December 2000" available on the CDSS
website address as of Oct. 1, 2001 hftp://cdss.state.co.us).
StateCU2
Diversion
Irrigation with
Used if DWR determined via satellite images that irrigated acreage was
Structure
identified irrigated
associated with this structure. The DWR program STATECU was utilized to
acreage and more
estimate the diversions and depletions at the structure. The diversions and
than one water right
depletions from StateCU were then divided between the water rights using the
junior to the Aspinall
decree amounts on a pro-rata basis. For further documentation of the StateCU
Unit water rights
program see "StateCU Documentation - StateCU Interface Version 4 - StateCU
FORTRAN Version 10, December 2000" available on the CDSS website
address as of Oct. 1, 2001 hftp://cdss.state.co.us).
StateCU3
Spring
Irrigation with
Used if DWR determined via satellite images that irrigated acreage was
identified irrigated
associated with this structure. The DWR program STATECU was utilized to
acreage
estimate the diversions and depletions at the structure. The diversions and
depletions from StateCU were quantfed in the "Other' category for all diversion
structures that are springs. For further documentation of the StateCU program
see "StateCU Documentation - StateCU Interface Version 4 - StateCU
FORTRAN Version 10, December 2000" available on the CDSS website
address as of Oct. 1, 2001 hftp://odss.state.co.us).
StateCU4
Diversion
Irrigation
Used if DWR determined via satellite images that irrigated acreage was
Structure
associated with this structure. The DWR program STATECU incorrectly assigns
irrigated acres and associated consumptive use to this water right. Right is not
decreed for irrigation, so no irrigation consumptive use is assigned to this water
right for the purpose of this report.
Tp 2nd
Reservoir
Taylor Park 2nd fill
Applies only to Taylor Park Reservoir (Structure id 593666). The diversions
associated with the Taylor Park 2nd fill are 106,230 ac-ft as stated in the
Division 4 accounting sheets for Taylor Park Reservoir. The depletions
associated with the Taylor Park 2nd fill are the reservoir evaporation losses of
2,035 ao-ft as shown in Division 4 accounting. One of the decreed uses for the
Taylor Park 2nd fill is irrigation. Because the Division Engineer has reported that
he does not consider that a call from the Gunnison Tunnel was placed this year,
no calculations were made for the supplement irrigation diversion allowed under
the refill decree.
Upr
Reservoir
Irrigation with DWR
Applies only to Upham Reservoir Fill Ditch (Structure Id 621621). Diversions
records
from infrequent diversion records provided by the Division Engineer. Records
indicated that all diversion was used for Augmentation purposes, therefore it was
assumed that 100% of diversions was consumed. This code applies only to
U ham Reservoir.
Zero
All
Fire, fishery, power
Depletions and consumptive use associated with these uses are estimated to be
generation, wildlife,
zero ao•ft. No diversions reported by Division Engineer. For purpose of this
and recreation
report diversions are shown as 0 ac -ft.
Note:
Some water rights have multiple decreed uses and therefore may be subject to a combination of method codes (Column 1) to
estimate diversion and /or depletions (e.g., Do -St = water right decreed for domestic and stock purposes).
Helton & Williamsen, P.C.
