•
Analysis of the support question by "Source of Information" seems to indicate that
among those who most strongly supported the project, television and the Division of
Wildlife were their sources of information. Conversely among those who most
strongly opposed the project at the time of the survey, their information sources were •
radio and public meetings (Figures 16 and 17).
Support for Proposed Project Restocking Options
Respondents were asked about how much they supported each of the three options
for managing ponds once resident fish had been removed. The three choices were:
1) either not stock fish at all, or 2) stock only with trout at certain times of the year,
or 3) stock only bass, crappie, and bluegill if the fish can't escape from the pond.
•
Not surprisingly, ver few an anglers, only 8% opted to leave the ponds empty, while •
Y 9 Y P p p Y
52 % supported the trout restocking option and 75% supported the use of bass,
crappie and bluegill (Figure 18).
Impact on License Buying
•
The last impact question asked western slope warmwater anglers was whether or not
a decrease in warmwater fishing opportunities in the local area would affect their
purchase of fishing licenses in the future. Most of the anglers surveyed (82 %) plan
to continue purchasing Colorado Fishing Licenses in the future, even if projects such
as the one described leave them with fewer warmwater fishing opportunities. 12%
said they feel strongly that it would negatively influence their license buying, and 4%
said it would, but not so strongly (Figure 19).
14
•
•
•
•
