It is envisioned the plan <br />be re- evaluated annually for progress, and to examine technological advances and any unique <br />demands that arise within specific regions of the state. <br />Acknowledgements <br />The preparers of this report were Mr. Ray Bennett and Mr. Joseph Grantham, Division of Water <br />Resources, and Mr. Randy Seaholm, Water Conservation Board. - They acknowledge the <br />legislators foresight.in requesting this assessment of Colorado's water resource information. It <br />has become obvious over the past few years that the only way the state can adequately develop <br />and protect its water resources is through sound basic data and information. This assessment <br />focuses on the status of that information and should allow future plans to be developed to <br />address the areas of need as described in this report. <br />The Colorado Water Conservation Board and the Executive Director, Daries (Chuck) Lile and <br />his staff, with the State Engineer, Hal Simpson, and his staff, provided much needed direction, <br />hard work and focus in the preparation of this report. Finally, a special thanks to the Division <br />Offices of the Division of Water Resources. These people are actually out in the field <br />administering the waters of the state daily and have a clear knowledge of the needs of the state <br />to protect this most precious resource.
