recommendation was fur reduced to 0.4 cfs for the time Pod of August 1 St through
February 14 based on limited water availability.
Existing Water Right Information
Staff has analyzed the water rights tabulation and consulted with the Division Engineer Office
(DEO) to identify any potential water availability problems. There is one decreed surface
diversion within this reach of stream (Shepardson Ditch #3). According to the DEO, the
Shepardson Ditch #3 shows no diversions records. Based on this analysis staff has determined
that water is available for appropriation on North Fork West Creek, between the Two V Gulch
and the confluence with West Creek, to preserve the natural environment to a reasonable degree
without limiting or foreclosing the exercise of valid existing water rights.
CWCB Staff's Instream Flow Recommendation
Staff recommends the Board form its intent to appropriate on the following stream reach:
Seqment: Two V Gulch to West Creek
Upper Terminus: Two V Gulch
(Latitude 38° 49' 32 "N) (Longitude 108° 54' 20 "W)
UTM = 42 99 288N 12 6 81 823 E
SW NE S21 T14S R1 03W 6PM
1500' West of East Section Line 1860' South of North Section Line
Lower Terminus: confluence West Creek
(Latitude 38° 45' 32 "N) (Longitude 108° 54' 01 "W)
UTM = 42 91 904N 12 6 82 447E
SW SW S10 T15S R103W 6PM
100' East of West Section Line 905' North of South Section Line
Watershed: Lower Dolores (HUC #: 14030004)
Counties: Mesa County
Length: 6.0 miles
USGS Quad(s): Two V Basin
Flow Recommendation: 3.7 cfs (April 1— June 30)
0.8 cfs (July 1 — July 31)
0.4 cfs (August 1 - February 14)
0.8 cfs (February 15 — March 31)
-5-
