Mountainbuzz.com :: View topic - YAMPA RIVER FEST - Steamboat info
Page 2 of 3
As always, the City always asks that we do not park at the library. There is limited
parking across the street or on Yampa Street, but there is a huge parking facility
downriver at the Stockbridge, just a 10 -min, walk upstream to the C & D holes.
This years theme is "The Yampa Is Wild" as we are working hard to continue to
allow the Yampa to retain its certain "Wild" attributes. The RICD push, a Yampa
River Improvement Master Plan, continued tree and vegetation plantings, river
cleanups, local policy, other conservation and event coordination are some of
F.O.Y. efforts.
Back to top e
wycoloboater ❑ Posted: Thu Jun 10, 2004 2:13 pm Post subject:
Total posts: 47
Location: Laramie /Steamboat K[
Clentp
Flow did the RICD meetings go the other week, and the fundraiser at mohag?
Hope they all went well, sorry I wasn't able to make it to help out. I'm sure I'll see
you this weekend.
Zach.
Back to toy roil.
kenty ❑ Posted: Thu Jun 10, 2004 2:38 pm Post subject:
Total posts: 11
The RICK as planned was denied any flows from the CWCB. They are now trying
to get rafting and tubing off the application as the C & D holes, in their minds,
don't add to the overall Yampa River rafting or tubing experience. They have no
clue.
We knew this was going to happen as the CWCB has never supported a RICK. If
they only could pull their heads out of their a$$e$ and realize that we now live in
a Colorado where keeping water in the river is as important as diverting it off
stream.
Now the RICD goes to water court (unsure about date) and then off to Supreme
Court where all other RICDS were held up. So it's all good. I'll keep the Mtnbuzz
world posted, though it seems from my last posting regarding the Steamboat
RICD that not many boaters are listening.
Anyway, the party at Mahogany was great. Lot's of folks turned out.
This weekend should be a ton of fun. If forgot to mention that there will be a POOL
TOY RODEO just prior to the kayak rodeo finals.
Late.
Back to toffs . - (GftIe,
http: // mountainbuzz .com /viewtopic.php ?t= 1808 &highlight= steamboat +charlies +hole 9/16/2004
