1
,
t
' PROJECT SPONSOR
Feasibility Study
for
Angel Lake Outlet Repair
' The Wood Lake Mutual Water & Irrigation Company (WLMWIC) is a Colorado Mutual Ditch
Company and a Non-profit Corporation. Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws are included in
Appendix C.

I

,
C J
The company's facilities, built about the turn of the century, are located in Weld County, Colorado
approximately 5 miles west of Eaton, Colorado. They consist of Wood Lake (capacity 3213 acre-
feet), Angel Lake (capacity 424 acre-feet with refi11848 acre-feet), Meyers Lake (capacity 600 acre
feet), and approximately 5 miles of unlined ditch and associated structures.
PROJECT LOCATION
Angel Lake is located approximately 2 miles east of Severance, Colorado on Weld County Road 74.
The specific location is in the Southeast quarter of Section 31, Township 7 North, Range 66 West.
Figure 1 shows the project location.
PROJECT SERVICE AREA
' The service area of Angel Lake includes approximately 215 acres of crop land. The total service area
for the Company is approximately 2,150 acres. Water from Angel Lake can be run through both
Wood Lake and Meyers Lake to irrigate any of the 2,150 aces irrigated by WLMWIC. The 215 acres
' irrigated out of Angel Lake however can only be serviced through Angel Lake. Crops include corn,
pinto beans, sugar beets, wheat, barley, oats, alfalfa and grass hay. The location of the reservoir is
shown on Figure 1 and the service area boundaxies are shown on Figure 2.
' WATER RIGHTS
' The company's decreed water right and appropriation on Angel Lake is dated December 31, 1899
for the first filling and the refill decree has an appropriation date of March 31, 1900. The reservoir
has Priority No. 136B for the first filling and Priority No. 136D for the refill decree. The total
, appropriation is for 424.7 acre-feet for each filling to a depth of 20.17 feet. The storage decree is
included in Appendix B.

'
I
The reservoir storage levels are not recorded by the Water Commissioner. Thus the average yield
and firm yield of the reservoir could not be determined.
Angel Lake Feasibility Study Page 1
'
