For details, contact Vail Town Clerk Lorelei <br />Donaldson at 479 -2136. <br />W <br />- -Gore Creek Whitewater Discussion <br />The Council offered its support and funding commitment for creation of <br />whitewater park at the Gore Creek promenade (between the Covered <br />Bridge and the International Bridge), pending approvals by the Planning <br />and Environmental Commission on April 10 as well as associated <br />governmental permits. The 2 to 4 -week construction period could begin <br />early as April 15 at an estimated cost of $240,000 (funded with Real <br />Estate Transfer Tax dollars). Proposed by Joel Health of the Vail Valley <br />Tourism and Convention Bureau, the whitewater park would include in- <br />stream water improvements, such as drops, pools and random boulder <br />placements, as well as selected bank access improvements, such as <br />vegetated terraces, seating areas and re- vegetation.
