In 1996 flow was under 100 cfs for <br />two days. The minimum flow of 79 cfs was on September 6, and the next lowest daily <br />mean flow was 88 cfs on September 5. Flow was under 174 cfs (50% exceedence <br />minimum) for 21 days. <br />In 1997 flow during August, September and October were exceptionally high <br />(Figure 3). Flows were above the 10% exceedence for most of the summer and fall, <br />except between September 1 to 18, when flows were near the 20% exceedence level. On <br />September 21 the mean daily flow rose to 6,770 cfs, which is not much below the <br />calculated bank full flow. The very high flows of September and October 1997 were an <br />obstacle for cross section work, and because of the short window when flows were below <br />600 cfs some of the field work was modified or abandoned. <br />n <br />
