Y � <br />,eater Utilization <br />Utiliz<tion of the future water suNinly on the South Platte <br />River below Kersey is dependent on the following, factors: (1) An <br />annual inmortation into the South Platte Basin of 2 acre-feet <br />from the Colorado River B:::sin by the Color,�do - Big Thomson ,Project. <br />(2) The effect of the -probable maximum development by the City of <br />Denver's Urnortation into the South Platte Basin of 82,000 acre- <br />feet r-- =wally from the ColorF:do River Basin on the stream flol,! at <br />Kersey, and (3) 4,n annual itv into the South Platte Basin <br />of 1 130 9 000 acre -feet of eater from the Colorado River Basin by the <br />Blue - South Platte Project. <br />Overation Studies <br />In order to evaluate benefits derived from Marrows Reservoir, <br />operation studies ,-ere made for the follo«ing conditions: (1) An <br />operatiun of the South Platte River bet-reen }jersey and Julesburg <br />With the historical £lours at Kersey. the - rresent off - channel stor4;e <br />system, and 230,000 acres of currently irrigated lend. By using this <br />as a base, the benefits from increased inflows aaid iricreagod storage <br />siwace were evaluated relative to the amount of siapplemontrnry Water <br />furnished to nurrently i1 rjg;c,ted l ..�ci, plus the benefits frost the <br />irrzaatiori of now 1-�uid. (2) The s,=e as in 0- nera,tion No. 1, plus <br />ihcre�_.sed flogs at Xersay due to operation of the Colorado -Big <br />Thompaon Project.
