r
saying that since Monday of this week in Justice
Hall's decision in the Eagle River Case, you have
an additional question here as to how much water
is going to be brought from the western to the
eastern slope. We've had this with us for a few
years - I don't know whether it's a hundred or
not, but it's surely been a long time. I think
that I would like to hear on this specific ques-
tion - can water be delivered to Henrylynn, to
Bijou Irrigation District and to Riverside from
both sites or only from one site?
Taking the liberty of restating Cecil's
position, he seems to say that you cannot deliver
water to those canals by exchange from the Narrows
site. This is a fundamental engineering question
that I think we've got to face, as I view it."
MR. GILDERSLEEVE: "Thank you."
MR. BARRETT: "I would say first, regarding the Bijou and
the Empire area, that is, the area between Weld
County and Narrows, if the selection is Weld
County those lands can be served direct. If the
selection is Narrows they will be served'by ex-
change. As far as the Henrylynn and other areas
above the Weld County site, they will have to be
served by exchange. So all we are confining it
to is actually the area served by the Riverside
and Empire Reservoirs. If it's Weld County they
can be served direct. If it is Narrows they
will be served by exchange.
Now what the exchange potentials are, that's
a big problem that we haven't reached the answer
to yet. That's involved in what you just men-
tioned on increased importations. We don't know
what they are going to be yet. That is a big
part of the study which has not been completed.
In fact, we've scarcely scratched the surface
on it.
I'd like to, just for my information, get a
clarification on Mr. Osborne's statement. He
mentioned the inefficient use of the two reser-
voirs. That is true. We grant that they are
inefficient and we would like to abandon them if
BY-0
