NWCCOG/QQ encompasses counties, towns and water
and sanitation districts in the headwaters of the Colorado, Gunnison and South Platte
River Basins. We currently have 50 members and continue to grow as the natural
resources in this region persist to be threatened. NWCCOG /QQ's purpose is "to enable
its members to protect and enhance the quality of our region's water while facilitating the
responsible use of those resources for the good of all Colorado citizens and its
environment."
NWCCOG /QQ worked closely with concerned entities and legislators on SB 06 -037.
While not all of our concerns with the legislation were resolved, we felt it was a solid
effort to address the issues consistently being raised by other entities.
General Overview /Comments
NWCCOG /QQ is in general support of the Proposed Rule Amendments and feel it tracks
closely with new statute relating to RICDs. We are interested in hearing more from
CWCB staff in regard to the creation of a Rule that would require staff to "file a
statement of opposition in every RICD case ".
