Reference <br />to accrued vacation time was made consistent, and delivery of notice, in the <br />last sentence of paragraph twelve, was added. <br />Bob Drexel moved approval of the revised Manager' s Contract. Brett <br />Redden seconded the motion. The motion carried. <br />The manager said that proposed changes to Employee Benefits Policy have <br />been provided to the board. A paragraph has been added to clarify that <br />board does not want to be involved in day to day management of the staff, <br />which is in response to a request from Greg Peterson, who wanted the <br />various relationships spelled out in a document. She said that the vacation <br />accrual cap in the policy is 160 hours, but her employment agreement <br />specifies 120 hours. The consensus was to change the policy to reflect 120 <br />hours. She said that on page 4, section IV, the policy states that a full -time <br />employee is eligible to receive medical benefits after six months. The <br />consensus was to take out the six -month medical insurance waiting time. <br />Diane Lothamer moved and Bob Drexel seconded to amend the General <br />Employment Policy of District with changes listed. The motion carried. <br />6. MISCELLANEOUS MATTERS <br />The board discussed some proposed changes to the District' s Bylaws, <br />including clarification of the noticing process for scheduling committee <br />meetings, using a motion, not a resolution in forming committees, the power <br />and authority that a committee would have, and waiver of meeting notices. <br />The consensus of the board was to include this on the agenda for the <br />board' s November 25, 2002 meeting. <br />A meeting of the legislative committee was scheduled for December 11, <br />2002 at 10:00 a.m. The board discussed Article IV, Section 4, Committees, <br />of the Bylaws. <br />Bob Drexel moved and Bob Irby seconded that the Legislative Committee has <br />authority to take a position on behalf of the District on legislative matters <br />that cannot be brought to the board for review in a timely matter, and that <br />this authority will have to be annually re- authorized and that the Legislative <br />Committee report to the board as a whole on a regular basis.
