inundated. It appears that Mr. Green inspected the Course on January 14, 2001, at 25
cfs, but has not inspected the Course at high flows.
The structures and their elevation /configuration were designed to provide
depth for boating during very low flows, even when the whitewater wave features are
not present. This is best demonstrated by the use of the Course at low flows.
Use of the Clear Creek Whitewater Course can and has occurred at many
times, including the night. Nighttime boating is an option similar to the popular
nighttime winter boating on Boulder Creek (due to nighttime hydro -power releases).
Special evening events (New Years Eve) have been held at the Boulder Creek Course
for a number of years and similar events may be scheduled for Clear Creek. When
flows are adequate, use of the Course for a variety of types of boating occurs.
Please contact me if you would like any supplemental opinions or more detailed
explanations.
Sincerely,
Gary M. Lacy, P.E.
