I was hoping to
mix it up with a little water to cool off in the afternoons. Can anyone tell me if the
Gunnison hole(s) are worthy at the current flow ? ?? I don't want to drag boats there
unless I will be rewarded.
Thanks!
gosgood
Posted: July 03 2003, 14:18
The Gunni park is great!. Lots of fun. The first wave is mellow. A bit flushy but with
a paddle stroke every once in a while you can stay in indefinatly.
The Lower is steeper and has a hole in the middle left. Quite retentive. Mornings to
afternoon is uncrowded. Starts to pick up around 4pm. 600 to 800 cfs is fine. We
will see as it goes down.
Other places tp paddle while you are there. Upper taylor. Not hugely chalenging but
fun. Lake Fork still doable above 200cfs in a kayak. gunnison river town run. Easy
but some play along the way. Start north of town.
enjoy
Parker a Posted: July 04 2003, 13:13
http: / /mountainbuzz.comlcgi- bin /forumsl ikonboard .cgi ?s =3 fUb22cdO l28ffff ;act= ST;f= 9;t =4... 7/8/2003
