III. Possible Witnesses <br />A. James E. Slattery, Helton & Williamsen, P.C., 384 Inverness Drive, Suite <br />144, Englewood, CO 80112. Mr. Slattery is a registered professional engineer who has <br />provided water resources consulting services to the District for many years. He has <br />extensive experience in water resource engineering and computer modeling. Among <br />other areas, Mr. Slattery is expected to testify primarily concerning the matters contained <br />in Exhibit A, but may testify to other related matters within his knowledge or expertise. <br />B. Gary Lacy, Recreational Engineering & Planning, 485 Arapahoe Avenue, <br />Boulder, CO 80302. <br />Mr. Lacy is an experienced boating course designer and engineer. He designed <br />the Gunnison Whitewater Park, and has extensive experience designing and overseeing <br />construction of other urban whitewater courses similar to the Gunnison Whitewater Park. <br />Mr. Lacy is expected to testify primarily concerning the matters contained in Exhibit C, <br />but may also testify to other related matters within his knowledge or expertise. <br />C. John DeVore, County Manager, Gunnison County, Colorado, 200 East <br />Virginia Avenue, Gunnison, CO 81230. <br />Mr. DeVore is Gunnison County Manager and has been directly involved with the <br />Gunnison Whitewater Park since its inception. Among other things, Mr. DeVore is <br />expected to testify regarding the County's development of outdoor recreation amenities, <br />the history of the Gunnison Whitewater Park, public meetings held to obtain input on a <br />variety of matters concerning the park, the employment of Gary Lacy to design the park, <br />funding and construction of the park, permit acquisition, studies of flooding and flood <br />control impact, the appropriateness of the reach chosen for the whitewater park, <br />ownership of the whitewater park and access thereto, expected usage, anticipated benefits <br />to the community. <br />D. Kathleen Curry, Manager, Upper Gunnison River Water Conservancy <br />District, 200 East Virginia Avenue, Gunnison, CO 81230. <br />Ms. Curry is the District's manager, and, among other things, she is expected to <br />testify regarding the District's role in water development generally, the history of the <br />Gunnison Whitewater Park and the District's role therein, the District's policy of <br />promoting recreational uses of water in the Gunnison River basin, public meetings <br />regarding the whitewater park water and water rights, expected usage and anticipated <br />benefits to the District's constituents. <br />11 <br />
