CWCB for since May of 2000. And here we are. So they've had
plenty of time to be part of it. And be involved, they've been involved
in it. And now I hear that they haven't had time and haven't been
involved in it.
Chairman: Ms. Hawes, would you like to respond?
T. Hawes: Yes, thanks. The River District has been involved through Eric Kune,
but I think that because they are a board they have to take votes, it
takes them time to get their members together and be able to vote on a
bill. And then the bill has changed a lot since we'd first seen it. And
my group, the headwaters group has not been consulted. We were
never asked or we heard about through the Water Congress but we
didn't really have much of a voice there.
Chairman: Senator Entz.
Sen. Entz: Thank you, Mr. Chairman. The headwaters group has been involved
in this since day one too, to my knowledge. We've had a
representative there with the CWCB. So I don't know where we're
coming from on this.
Chairman: Ms. Hawes.
Sen. Entz: And if you want to — this handout on, I don't know what page it is, but
it's by the State [unintelligible] if you want to read that, it'll kind of
give you a back ground on that.
T. Hawes: Eric Kune is the headwaters person, he's the Colorado River Basin,
but we represent, my group represents elected officials and local
governments and we were not consulted.
Chairman: OK. Any questions from the Committee. Thank you very much, Ms.
Hawes.
T. Hawes: I also have a handout, should I - -?
Chairman: Please.
Mme. Chair: Robert McLowrin, is that the correct pronunciation? OK, would you
say your name for the tape and also who you are representing. This is
another representative for Vail.
Man: Well, there are two of us who would like to come up together.
April 12, 2001
Page 31
