Water Supply Protection Section <br /> Colorado Water Conservation Board <br /> • <br /> As section chief, responsible for supervising the day to day activities of the 8- people in the <br /> section. The Water Supply Protection Section is generally responsible for activities <br /> relating to the Colorado River and Upper Colorado River Cornpacts, including the body of • <br /> law referred to as the "Law of the Colorado River" and for the Arkansas River Compact. <br /> The Section Chief serves as an engineering advisor to Colorado's Upper Colorado River <br /> Compact Commissioner. Related activities include participating in and managing certain <br /> water related actions of the Recovery Programs for endangered species on the Upper <br /> Colorado, San Juan, Platte and for the Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Program. <br /> The section also coordinates Colorado's participation in the Colorado River Salinity <br /> Control Program. Section staffare responsible for development of the Colorado Decision <br /> Support System (completed for the Colorado River Basin, and under development in the <br /> Rio Grande and Platte Basins). Finally staff is involved with the State Engineer and <br /> Attorney General in settling federal reserved water right claims with the U.S. Forest <br /> Service and National Park Service. <br /> 11 \1993- Physical Science Researcher /Scientist IV ' <br /> 10 \1997. Hydrologic and Interstate Streams Investigations Section <br /> Colorado Water Conservation Board <br /> Assistant section chief responsible for the supervision of section activities in the absence of <br /> the section chief. Acting section chief since February 1, 1997. In addition to previous <br /> responsibilities discussed, had a major role in the development and management of the <br /> Colorado River Decision Support System. Workload expanded to include lead worker <br /> responsibility for major portions of the Colorado River Recovery Program for Endangered <br /> Fish (i.e. Redlands Fish Ladder Water Contract, Coordinated Reservoir Operations, Colorado <br /> River Workgroup Report, Orchard Mesa Check Case Settlement and Green Mountain <br /> Reservoir re- operation). Also, continued to have lead responsibility for resolving Federal <br /> Reserved Water Right issues on the Gunnison and for the technical portion of U.S. Forest <br />
