Agreements and Contracts
The District is in discussions with the owner of the private railroad and the entity
controlling the Mineral Belt Bike Path to obtain the agreements necessary to cross the
structures with the proposed pipeline.
5.7. SOCIAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, AND PHYSICAL IMPACTS
This project is not expected to have significant adverse social, environmental, or
physical impacts.
There are no known historical or archaeological sites within the construction area. No
threatened or endangered species habitat or jurisdictional wetlands are expected to be
impacted by the construction. Minor, temporary construction impacts are expected
during the construction period. Housing for a small pump station and the power ine to
the station are the only long-term physical impact expected above the ground surface
after the project is complete.
Although some of the District's customers may be impacted by increased rates to pay for
their share of the project, these increased rates are considered to pale in comparison to
the economic and social impacts associated with the loss of water deliveries and poor
water quality, if no action is taken to repair the structure. It is noted that the District's
rates are currently at or below the average rates within the state of Colorado.
5.8.
