(Attach scope of study, if available) <br />Various communities have built whitewater parks within the State of Colorado for various <br />recreational purposes. The law permits local governmental entities to obtain water rights for <br />these whitewater parks, if certain conditions are met under the law. This proposed grant <br />program would allow the CWCB to award grants to local governmental entities to assist them <br />in promoting non- consumptive use of water resources within their communities by building <br />whitewater parks. Grants would be granted based on need and ability to demonstrate that the <br />grant would be used in manner in a way that promotes maximum utilization of water resources. <br />2 <br />
