SUBJECT: Water Efficiency Grant Fund Recommendation for the Town of Superior
Summary of Grant Application
The Office of Water Conservation & Drought Planning ( OWCDP) received a Water Efficiency
Grant Fund application from the Town of Superior, a covered entity located in Boulder County.
Superior is requesting $25,003 to develop a water conservation plan that will comply with §37-
60 -126 C.R.S. and build on previous water conservation planning efforts.
Superior is located in the South Platte Basin where SWSI identified a 90,000 acre feet gap
between water needs and supplies by 2025. Water conservation will be vital in helping Superior
to extend its renewable water supplies at a reasonable cost.
Superior has pledged 25% matching funds in the form of cash and in -kind services. OWCDP
staff has reviewed and evaluated the grant application and has determined that the proposal
meets or exceeds the CWCB guidelines for reviewing grant proposals. Attached is the internal
checklist used to evaluate the application.
Recommendation
The OWCDP staff recommends that Jennifer Gimbel, Director of the CWCB, authorize a Water
Efficiency Grant in the amount of $25,003 for the Town of Superior to develop a water
conservation plan in accordance with §37 -60 -126 C.R.S.
