Gypsum Loan Feasibility Outline <br />CWCB Water Project Loan Program <br />Page 16 of 33 <br />Drainage Land Cc~ver <br />Although it is estimated that the LEDE Reservoir and Ditch catchments may yield an <br />average of 2,373 ac-ft of surface water per year, not all of this water will be available for <br />storage by the Reservoir due to operational considerations such as water rights <br />administration and facility operations. In order to estimate the amount of water which <br />would actually be available for storage given upgraded infrastructure, it is assumed that <br />a11276 ac-ft from the Reservoir's catchment will be captured under the original irrigation <br />water right, but that only the high water portion of the yield from the Ditch's catchment <br />will be legally available for storage and diversian under the junior municipal <br />enlargement. As one means of estimating how much of the 2,097 ac-ft annual discharge <br />runs off during the high water period, the annual volurrie can be distributed to an annual <br />hydrograph of average daily flow rates. <br />Based on a limited number of field observations, the catchment's hydrograph is believed <br />to consist of a very low base flow with a limb rising steeply during the late spring to peak <br />in mid June and then receding rapidly during the early summer back to the low base flow <br />by late summer. As this pattern is also exhibited by the Beaver Creek gage data, the <br />period of record average daily flow rate hydrograph from the gage was scaled to <br />represent the Ditch catchment's annual discharg~; volume as an approximate <br />
