~ ~ <br />2. Subcontract the construction of said project to a' reapon- <br />sible and capable firm, said project to be completed within 2 yeara <br />of the date of this contract in accordance with the project plane <br />and specifications and any necessary modification thereof approved <br />by the State. The State must approve, in writing, all aubcontracts <br />before they become effective. The above-mentioned time may be <br />extended by the State if auch time is insufficient because of acts <br />of God or other acts or circumatancee beyond the control of the <br />Contractor. <br />3. Require all Subcontractors engaged in the construction of <br />the project to indemnify the State and the Contractor against all <br />liability and loss, and against all claims and actions based upon <br />or arising out of damage or injury, including death, to persons <br />or property caused or sustained in connection with the performance <br />of any subcontract or by conditions created thereby, or based upon <br />any violation of any statute, ordinance or regulation, and the <br />defense of any such claima or actions. <br />4. Require all Subcontractors engage8 in the consttuction of <br />the project to maintain liability insurance in at least the following <br />amounts: <br />' a. For any injury to one person in any single occurence, <br />the sum of One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000). <br />b. For any injury to two or more persons in any single <br />occurence, the sum of Four Hundred Thousand Dollars ($400,000). <br />Said liability insurance shall he Contractor and the State <br />as co-insureds. Conve or cause titl e~eyed by deed or other proper <br />Y <br />conveyance to the Colorad ter Conservation Board, Department <br />of Natural Resources, State of Colorado, the following portions <br />of the proposed project facilities within 30 days of their <br />completion. <br />a. A 36-inch ductile iron pipe of about 60 linear feet, <br />with all appurtenances. <br />b. A 6-inch ductile iron pipe of about 55 linear feet, with <br />all appurtenances. <br />c. A 6-inch steel air pipe of about 542 linear feet, with <br />all appurtenances. <br />d. Air diffusion equipment. <br />e. Two sir compressors with 560-cubic-feet-per-minute capa- <br />city each. <br />f. Two effluent headers, carbon and polymer equipment, a <br />water pump and pressure tank and handrailsr which together with <br />a. through e. are part of a twent•y-two-million-gallon-per-day- <br />treatment-plant capacity located in Canon City. <br />6. Permit periodic inspection of construction by authorized <br />representatives of the State during and after construction. <br />7. Without expense to the State, manage, operate and maintain <br />the water system continuously in an efficient and economical manner, <br />and assume all legal liability for auch management, opecation and <br />maintenance. The Contractor shall maintain general liability <br />insurance covering its management, operaurchaseaofathe project <br />the water system until it has completed p <br />facilities from the State in at least the following amounts: <br />a. For any injury to one person in any single occurrence, <br />the sum of One Aundred Fifty Thousand Dollars (5150,000). <br />b.
