CWCB Loan Application continued ... <br />Part A. - Description of tlie Applicant <br />Please provide a brief description of the owner's existing water supply facilities and <br />describe any existing operational or maintenance problems. Attach separate sheets if , <br />needed, and a map. of the service area. <br />The District primarily derives its water from East Snowmass Creek a~d East <br />Snowmass Creek 5pring, Snowmass Creek and the West Fork of Brush Creek. <br />Ziegler Reservoir wes recently purchased by the District and derives its water from <br />East 5nowmass Creek. Ziegler Reservoir has an ac~judicated 1 CFS fill rFght and a <br />57 AF storage righ~ A map of the service area is included in the Feasibility Study. <br />Part B. - Description of the Project <br />Please provide a brief nacrative description of the proposed project including purpose, need <br />facilities, type of water uses to be served and service area. <br />In 2408 the District purchased Ziegler Reservoir and intends to connect the <br />reservoir to its raw water delivery system. The purpose of the reservoir purchase is <br />to improve reliability by enabling the District to better respond to a catastrophic <br />event that would render its direct tlow sources untreatable or unavailable. As the <br />District currently doesn't have raw water storage, an interruption in direct tlows <br />coWd si~nificantly impair the District in meeting its municipal demands. The <br />District currently serves approximately 3,5(10 year rnnnd residents and, during the <br />wint~r ski season, occasionally serves an additional 10,000 to 12,000 skiers. . <br />The new delivery and pump system includes the construction of a pump house, <br />installation of approximately 1,400' of pipe, construction of a tlow control building, <br />installation of telemetry and electric power. This will allow the District to atilize the <br />existing 57 AF Ziegler Reservoir. <br />5 <br />
