PARTNERS' EXPERTISE <br />Partner Ex ertise <br /> Ability to achieve cooperation among all possible relevant partners; ability to leverage local, state, and federal <br />UAWCD funds; experience overseeing large-scale water projects such as ~$1.8M rehabilitation and expansion of two <br /> reservoirs located on the South Arkansas River (North Fork and Boss Lake); experience managing grants <br /> including BOR -$285,000 and WSRA -$285,000 . <br /> Demonstrated local knowledge including two prior studies in the Upper Arkansas basin: <br /> 01982-1984 Water Resources Appraisal of the Upper Arkansas River Basin from Leadville to Pueblo, Colorado <br /> (Crouch 1984) estimated that aquifer storaqe in the upper 200 feet of saturated material in the Buena Vista- <br /> Salida basin was 3.8M a.f. <br /> 02000-2003 Hydrogeology and Quality of Ground Water in the Upper Arkansas River Basin from Buena Vista <br />USGS to Salida, Colorado (Watts 2005) identified drainable water in the upper 300 feet of alluvial, basin-fill, and glacial <br /> deposits of 472,000 a.f. <br /> Expertise includes site reconnaissance at all 15 UAWCD dcp locations to ensure installation in accordance with <br /> USGS standards, including assessing each site for laminar flow, tliscussing potential ice buildup issues, <br /> classifying high and low flow (seasonal) measurement techniques, identifying survey reference points, <br /> considerin stillin well construction or sta e monitorin s stem installation. <br />g. The applicant is providing matching funds and the amount of matching funds or is obtaining partial <br />funding fi•om other sources and the amount and source of such other funds, or is providing demonstrable <br />in-kind contributions. <br />UAWCD is providing matching funds of 7% or $30,000, plus in-kind contributions valued at $24,220 for <br />gage data and project management. In addition to the 7%, UAWCD covered costs already incurred for <br />grant writing and cost estimating. Funding from other sources includes -33% or -$133,000 from USGS, <br />and -23% or -$93,000 from local land use planners (like Chaffee, Fremont and Custer Counties) and local <br />water resource managers (like Penrose and Round Mountain Water Districts). <br />TABLE 10.
